Introduction

RETTS triage is a system that is widely used in emergency care in Sweden. The RETTS triage contains a reason for visit, a set of vital parameters and a 'colour' based on a calculataion of the included vital parameters. The colour indicates a priority based on the severity of the patient's condition. The colours included in a RETTS triage in the order of priority are:

  1. Red
  2. Orange
  3. Yellow
  4. Green
  5. Blue

The ClinicalImpressionTriageRetts profile is based on the FHIR resource ClinicalImpression.

Intended Use

The ClinicalImpressionTriageRetts profile is used to create a RETTS triage in COSMIC from an external ambulance system.

Specific Rules and Limitations

Type Description
Limitation Reason for visit cannot be sent and stored as a structured reason for visit term in COSMIC. Instead, it can be sent as a free text priority note.
Limitation Reason for visit term stored for the triage will always be "Prehospital bedömning".
Rule The vital signs referenced in ClinicalImpression.investigation should be sent as contained resources.
Rule The intended users of this API are healthcare professionals.

400 TriageDateTime=YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.SSS >= YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.SSS The entered TriageDateTime cannot be in the future. It has to be the current time or in the past.
400 The Snomed Code for […] could not be translated There is no mapping between the entered SNOMED code and the corresponding OpenEHR code on the FHIR server.

For emergency staff to be able to see patient triages before the patient arrives to emergency unit. General purpose: See patient triages performed in external system.
