Medication

Introduction

For handling medication related information from an external system to COSMIC via COS, multiple resources are used. Cambio has implemented FHIR APIs for different use cases related to medication handling connected with external systems and devices.

The medication module in COSMIC provides different functionalities that help towards providing secure efficient drug handling for patients.

Currently the resources used are MedicationRequest and MedicationDispense. Derivative profiles are made using these resources for facilitating different use cases.

Included Profiles

The available profiles are:

• MedicationRequestDoseDispensing - This API is intended to be used for sending drug information for a specific patient to dose dispensing machines installed in hospitals.
• MedicationDispenseDoseDispensing - This API is used to communicate information about dose dispensing occasions. Based on the information received, status changes can be done in COSMIC.
• OncologyMedicationDispense - This API is used to communicate the information about prepared oncology drugs from external pharmacies.
